Choosing a yacht is a key step before chartering. Different yachts have different features that can suit different preferences and needs. So how do you choose the right one?
1. Type of yacht
Think about what type of vessel you need. A catamaran offers stability and space, while a sailing yacht allows you to feel the true essence of sailing. A motorboat will provide quick transport and it is not depending on the wind.
2. Number of passengers
Pay attention to the number of berths on the yacht. For larger groups, it is worth considering catamarans, which offer more space, although larger monohulls can also accommodate up to 14 people. Smaller yachts are ideal for couples or families. It is worth to check how many berths are in the double cabins and how many in the saloon and skipper cabins.
3. Destination
If you are planning a longer cruise, look for comfortable vessels with more living space and additional equipment, such as a generator or a water maker.
4. Crew experience
If the crew is experienced, you can choose more demanding vessels. For those who are less advanced, it is worth choosing a yacht with easier operation, for example with furling sails, bow thruster, etc.
5. Budget
Choosing a yacht is also associated with costs. Consider the budget you want to allocate for the charter. A catamaran or a luxury motor yacht will be more expensive than smaller sailing vessels. Often, vessels with additional equipment (e.g. air conditioning) will also have a higher price.
Summary
Choosing the right yacht depends on many factors - from the number of passengers, through the experience of the crew, to the purpose of the trip. With the right help, the choice can be simple, and a well-chosen yacht will make sailing a pure pleasure.
