What to Discuss Before Confirming Your Yacht Charter Reservation?

Chartering a yacht is not just about adventure and relaxation—it also requires responsibility and organization. To ensure that both you as clients and we as a charter agency are prepared for every situation, it’s important to address a few key details before confirming your reservation.

Remember!
If you have any questions but are hesitating to ask if it’s appropriate—don’t worry! There are no silly questions, and we’re here to clarify any uncertainties so you can fully enjoy your sailing experience.

    1. Are You Planning to Sail Beyond National Borders?

If you intend to visit other countries during your voyage, be sure to inform us about it. Not all yachts are authorized for international travel, and lacking the necessary documents (e.g., customs permits, international insurance) can lead to legal complications.

    What to clarify:

    • Is the yacht equipped for international sailing?
    • Does the company provide the necessary documents and insurance?
    • What are the customs fees in the countries you plan to visit?

Are You Traveling with a Pet?

Sailing with a pet, such as a dog, is becoming increasingly popular, but it requires additional preparations. Not all yachts are pet-friendly, and some countries require special documents for animals (e.g., passports, vaccination records).

Do You Plan to Sail at Night?

Night sailing is a unique experience, but it requires advanced navigation skills and the right yacht equipment. It’s also worth checking the general charter terms to ensure there are no restrictions on night sailing.

Do You Need Any Special Additional Equipment?

Every crew has different expectations, so it’s worth specifying what you need most. If you require additional equipment such as air conditioning, a grill, diving gear, or a motorized dinghy, let us know during the reservation process. This allows us to match you with the perfect yacht and ensure comfort and unforgettable experiences on the water.

  1. Do You Have Specific Crew or Service Requirements?

If you need a skipper, hostess, or chef, it’s best to arrange this during the reservation process. Similarly, if you’d like grocery delivery to the yacht, let us know in advance.

What Are the Conditions Regarding the Security Deposit?

It’s important to know the amount of the security deposit required by the yacht owner. If you’d like to reduce the deposit, ask whether the owner offers an insurance option—some do, but not all.
If the owner doesn’t provide deposit insurance, you can use an external insurance company. However, keep in mind that in this case, you’ll still need to pay the full deposit amount to the owner.

Do You Plan to Change the Crew During the Voyage?

Changing crew members mid-voyage, such as at a designated port, is an option that requires prior agreement and the yacht owner’s approval. In some cases, this may involve additional fees and formalities, which must be arranged in advance.

Summary: A Shared Path to a Successful Voyage

Collaboration between clients and the charter agency is based on mutual trust and communication. The more details are clarified before the start of your voyage, the better it will be for both parties. With proper preparation, your sailing vacation will truly be unforgettable!
