Rent a boat from Marina Vrsar and sail into the Lim Channel, also known as the Lim Fjord, thanks to the 1958 film Viking. The name of the canal comes from Roman times, from the Latin word limes, meaning borders. The name was not given by accident, because the canal, now located between Vrsar and Rovinj, separated two Roman provinces: Dalmatia and Italy. It is an 11-kilometer bay surrounded by rich forests. Its waters are calm and deep, making it an ideal place for sailing. The surrounding forests are rich in a variety of vegetation and animals, making the area also a popular destination for nature lovers and tourists seeking tranquility. On the south side of the canal there is a cave called Romualdo. The cave was named after Saint Romuald, who spent several years in it, around the year 1000, living as a hermit. His activity in Istria is associated with the establishment of a monastery, the Benedictine Abbey of St. Michael (sv. Mihovil). The ruins of the monastery can be seen on the northern shore of the bay.
